About Shekinah / Kalibu

Shekinah/Kalibu is a registered incorporated native ministry founded in Malawi and reaching out to remote areas in that country as well as Mocambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Rwanda, and New Sudan. In Africa, it is known as "Kalibu Kwa Yesu," which means, "You are welcome to come and dine with us together with Jesus." "Shekinah" means the glory of God in all its splendor, a continual reminder that we are not working to build an earthly, human kingdom, but the eternal Kingdom of God. May He receive all glory, honor and praise.

Shekinah/Kalibu aims to train local leadership spiritually, mentally and physically to take over the work at all levels after being fully equipped.

Shekinah/Kalibu emphasizes development work and the establishment of local projects which lead to self-financing at the local level. For example, Kalibu Ministries financed some local fishermen on the Shire River providing them with capital, nets and fishing boats. Today, those same people have developed an impressive self-sufficient community. Other projects include establishing small grinding mills which lead to similar results.

Shekinah/Kalibu emphasizes learning and practical skills. They are involved with aggressive evangelism and the raising up of local churches, ensuring that there are always good governmental structures established.

Shekinah/Kalibu works on a "hub" idea with many spokes leading to satellite projects and ministries which are developed on the lines of the parent program.

Shekinah/Kalibu involves itself in relief work in remote areas where there is war, drought, famine and flood.

Shekinah/Kalibu establishes its watchword on 1 Thessalonians 2:8...."So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us." In essence, we are concerned with the well-being of people at all levels. It is through sacrifice, love, concern and investment into the lives of people which give a right to preach the Gospel and see living dynamic communities raised up.

Shekinah/Kalibu has a structured government and deals responsibly with donated finances for which there is complete accountability. It is a NON PROFIT CORPORATION.
