SUNAMI

Beloved Partners & Friends

We have all watched with different emotions the Tsunami disaster that has hit various parts of Asia and even reached Africa. There is no doubt that the floods in U.K. and the crazy weather patterns world wide are a direct result of this amazing shaking of the earth. Of course, the skeptics are asking, "Where is God? Why? Why? Why? Why did HE let this happen?" The endless debates also amongst believers are the same as those for September 11th. "Is it God's judgment?" "Is it the devil?" Beloved, it is not my place to fully answer all of these issues, though answers there most certainly are. Suffice it to say that we are living in a sinful world and the very natural creation is groaning and travailing under the weight of it and nature itself is subject to the fruit of the fall and of sin. This disaster is nothing to what is going to happen. Whilst our emotions and deep compassions certainly reach out to those who have been devastated, let us never forget that sin and darkness are part of the lives of those in most of Asia and they have chosen that lifestyle and to worship the creation more than the Creator. Their worship of that creation has, in a moment of time, been shattered. The book of Romans makes that very clear. Are we any better than they? Indeed no and I am not suggesting that this is God's deliberate act of judgment on Asia. What I am saying is that this is a natural phenomenon of the earth, the movements of the earth and the general fruit of sin. At the same time, I AM acutely aware that there is a wrath of Satan that will shake the earth and there will be a greater wrath of God that will make this Tsunami look like a play thing. A disaster of this nature may cause men either to turn to the Lord or repel them in anger and hardness of heart. Our response as believers is exceedingly important.

The enormous response of the world, the vast tonnage of supplies and the seemingly inexhaustible flow of finance causes me to ask, "What role must I play in the midst of it all?" Once again, as believers, we are faced with the issue of the responsibilities of stewardship and the things with which we have been entrusted. Our greatest trust is the WORD. It is impossible for us to even make a dent on the immediate needs and neither do we need to do so for the world has answered in cash and kind. It therefore requires the believer to be wise and invest wisely where our investment will bring eternal rewards not for ourselves, but the glory of the Lord and the ingathering of souls. One friend of ours, a great man of God who has devoted his life to the Indonesian islands wrote these words. "Please pray with us that we can get the flight we are supposed to be on - even if it means shunting some other celebrants off…(It is Chinese New Year in Asia and flights are full with people going to attend celebrations. This is amazing in the midst of this incredible tragedy. Where has China been too? Ed.) and that we can fill the meantime with raising awareness and prayer and all kinds of support  especially for the Churches,  Christians, pastors and Bible schools who will all be marginalized or overlooked by officials, aid agencies and other sources of aid." This statement adequately sums up the situation for the Believer and the responsibility of the believer. It is our task to ensure that the necessary tools are given whereby those who have lived for Christ should be supported to rise up quickly and show that, in Christ, there is love, support, help and prosperity and that others will be encouraged to seek after the TRUTH by the great blessings they visibly see in the midst of tragedy.

 SUDAN PEACE

The long awaited full signing of the Sudan Peace took place in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday 9th January 2005 overshadowed unfortunately by the Tsunami disaster. Full peace now comes to Southern Sudan and the leader of SPLA, Dr. John Garang, becomes vice president of Sudan for the next six years when there will be a referendum on whether the south remains in a united Sudan or chooses total independence. Whilst thousands of delegates and over 20 presidents attended the ceremony and congratulations and praises were showered on everyone by everyone, there was a distinct absence of praises going to the One and only One who could make this peace happen, our beloved PRINCE OF PEACE, Jesus the Christ. He made it happen through the power of intercession and we rejoice in His final victory. It now remains for the South to work out their own tribalism and divisions to make this peace that the Lord has given them on a plate, work. An enormous price was paid in intercession. The work of Shekinah/Kalibu in southern Sudan is now OFFICIALLY over. The Lord has removed the burden. Indeed, we have been unceremoniously stripped of everything that we left behind and our personages relegated to a position that is less than human. Nevertheless, we rejoice in this peace that the Lord so wonderfully engineered and are thrilled that He saw not only fit to use us but to allow us to see the fruit of ultimate victory and it is sweet. We now have another assignment, another place and each new step with the Lord is so much bigger than the last. We have no regrets, none whatsoever but only hearts filled with gratitude and thankfulness and love as we move on. The loss of material things cannot even begin to compare with what the Lord has in store for us as we obey Him. We have left behind solidly equipped men of God who must now carry the torch. This is Malawi’s hour with the opening of the College here and then our focus will become Finland and Europe. The power of the Lord for revival in the nations is His next big calling and ministry for Shekinah/Kalibu and you are a powerful part of the next great saga that will also end in victory. Of this I am assured. We cannot ever fail in what HE ordains us to do.

We will follow this next month with a report from someone on the ground in Yei.

POLICE CHAPEL, MALAWI

The position of Inspector General of Police in Malawi is a most powerful and responsible appointment made directly by the President. The new president who took over from the former Moslem leader appointed the first woman ever to the position of Inspector General. In a landmark speech during the New Year celebrations, Mrs. Mary Nangwale declared that the police would no longer be politicized in any fashion whatsoever and that corruption would be handled with the severest of discipline. It was a most welcomed about turn from the past decade where law and order in the country has been subjected to the whims of individuals and the police have been the pawn of the ruling political party.

To understand the enormity of what I am about to share, it is imperative that you read my book, TO SAVE A NATION. Malawi has been strategic in the planned Islamic take-over of Africa. The diabolic bid by the former Moslem president to change the constitution here, give himself another term in office and thereby introduce SHARIA LAW was frustrated and thwarted by nothing less than the power of intercession. Failing his attempt of a direct take over, Bakili Maluzi resorted to a SECOND DIABOLIC PLAN. He appointed a pawn who, on being elected, would merely be a puppet in the hands of this Moslem leader when he was out of office. This puppet played the appropriate role until he was fully elected and sworn in as the new president. Suddenly, he began to reveal his true worth. Corruption was to be rooted out. Former ministers and departmental heads were axed and the new president was not prepared to play the political games of his predecessor. The country has teetered on a knife edge since the new president began to act. In a significant development this week, the former Moslem president and party leader resorted to his third diabolic plan: the assassination of the president. Malawi has rocked and reeled this week from a foiled attempt to assassinate the State President that would have placed his Vice, a FUNDAMENTALIST MOSLEM in power and the former president firmly in control through his pawn, the Vice President becoming president. Again, the Lord powerfully came to the rescue and this is where, once again, the power of intercession and the role of the new Inspector General, Mrs. Mary Nangwale must be revealed.

I walked into a supermarket in Blantyre and there was Mrs. Nangwale at the check out laughing with an assistant and surrounded by highly decorated policemen and women. I waited a moment until she had finished and marched boldly and directly up to her, grabbed her hand and warmly congratulated her on her speech. She was struck by my boldness but obviously thrilled by my congratulations.

“And, may I ask,” she said,  “Who are you?”

“Oh, I am Pastor Michael Howard of Kalibu Kwa Yesu…”

She almost shouted, “You are a pastor! You are a pastor?”

“Indeed, I am, Madam. “I smiled.

“Praise the Lord! O, Praise the Lord!” She boldly declared.

“Ah! Hallelujah! You are born again,” I excitedly said.

“Indeed yes!” She declared.

“I would love to bring you a couple of my books…”

“Bring them anytime to my office in Lilongwe.”

I had an open invitation to the highest police officer in Malawi. This is a most significant invitation in Africa. And so I found myself in the office of the most powerful police officer in the nation directly after she had just foiled an assassination attempt on the President – and HE is all of the Lord protecting a nation and frustrating the onslaught of Islam. This is like a story clean out of Esther or Daniel whereby a servant of the Lord is used of the Lord for powerful ends through the protection of the King.

Mrs. Mary Nangwale shared her life and her love for the Lord. She shared how the former Moslem tyrant, Muluzi had demoted and humiliated her in an attempt to get rid of her from the national police.  Mary, in true Christian humility, suffered the shame and dishonor to rise again to the highest position under the new president. She is most certainly a Daniel or Joseph set free for God’s higher purposes.

“I promised that if ever one day, I became Inspector General (IG) of Malawi, I would really build up a Christian police association, introduce a police chaplain and build a chapel right here on the grounds of the police headquarters, using my own salary as IG!”

The woman was NOT asking of me anything but prayer. As she was sharing her vision, I simply knew that we have to support this vision in the on-going saga of the freedom of Malawi from the evil clutches of Islam.

Beloved partners and friends, we are going to help build that police chapel to the glory of the Lord and the end of corruption in this nation. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people. I am asking you to give generously to this significant monument to the glory of the Lord in preserving an entire nation. What the Lord has begun through Shekinah/Kalibu to expose Islam and its evil design is going to resound around the world. This is the Lord’s doing and is marvelous. We are seeking to give an initial gift of US$10,000 to start this project and really want you to have a part in this great endeavor. Once again, this is a national issue and this Ministry is dealing with NATIONS. What a further, wonderful opportunity to make powerful impact at NATIONAL level.

At the same time, the President of Malawi has agreed to come and officially open Kalibu Academy in December of this year. What a celebration we will enjoy.
