It has been blood chilling to watch the explosion of violence across the earth as fanatical religious lunatics have dominated the news. What is more disconcerting is to have watched the response of the West that once again, has backed down and bent over backwards to placate such nonsense. Let us face facts: the nations of the world are held to ransom by Middle Eastern oil and the West to the dollar and euro. The power of unity and the amazing clout and muscle of “people power” is once again revealed. “East is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet” except in Jesus Christ and the glorious power of His Gospel. The two cultures are poles apart and will never understand one another no matter how hard they try for Islam is a way of life and not merely a religion. Christianity is also meant to be a way of life – the life of the glorious Kingdom of Heaven - but few understand it and even fewer are prepared to live it. Moslems are prepared to destroy literally everything and themselves for their fanatical beliefs but the western mindset that worships money – and Jesus said that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil – will compromise and concede if it means that wealth and lifestyle will be affected. We are looking at jihad in its ugliest forms. Islam is pressing every button to see how the West reacts and the only thing that Islam understands and respects is the demonstration of strength and resolve. In sympathy and support for Denmark, the European Union should place an embargo on all imports and shipping and planes from any Middle Eastern country that has boycotted Danish goods.

It is has been part of our intercession for many years that events will happen with such powerful demonstration that the West will awake and in particular, the “sleeping giant” which Colonel Khadaffi fears and which is the Church of Jesus Christ. We have interceded that the church will arise and reveal its true colors. I trust that these events have begun to move people in the West that will force governments to change their thinking and policies especially on immigration. You might ask, “What can I do?” Write to your elected political officials and demand especially that immigration policies change. Speak to your neighbors to do the same and take the opportunity to share the Gospel with them. Above all, pray and intercede. Be educated with what you are dealing.

People power does work even in the West. It is exciting to report of the Racial and Religious hatred Bill in the United Kingdom. In keeping with an election promise, Tony Blair had promised legislation in Britain that would basically support Moslems. This bill would have effectively given Moslems the right to take any pastor to court for inciting religious hatred by any pastor declaring such absolute truth as Jesus Christ declaring, “I am the way, the truth and the life no man cometh to the Father but by me.” There was no room to maneuver by the law courts with this legislation that proposed a mandatory 7 years prison sentence. In answer to lobbying but most of all, intercession, the Bill was utterly defeated in the British Parliament where the Government holds a solid majority of seats and government MPs voted against their own. What a victory and how the Lord will intervene when we petition Him. This Bill was rejected one day before the explosion of Islamic violence. The outcome might have been different thereafter.

We are certainly living in momentous days where change is so rapid that nothing in this world is sure anymore. Who would believe that we would wake up to see a terrorist government ruling in the West Bank? Who would believe that the European Union already has plans set for a European army to be ruling Jerusalem as early as NEXT YEAR?  What is absolutely sure is that HE is the “same, yesterday, today and forever!” He changes not and no matter the Islamic uprising and hatred for everything that is Christ, He is Lord! His kingdom will never fail, Mohammed will bow his knee to Christ one day and Allah will be exposed for who he really is. In the meantime, we have a responsibility to live for Jesus like we never have done and this living must come out of loving. God is love and they that live in love live in God and God lives in them. Love is not mere words, but deeds. It is important to stay focused. Islam and every adverse law will never defeat the Kingdom of Heaven. The Kingdom of Heaven is only defeated each time I compromise or lower the absolute standard of God’s Word or believe and live anything less than what Christ lived and demands that we too must live.

 KALIBU STAFF BLESSED

At the end of each year the management of Kalibu Ministries blesses all staff members who have faithfully served in the ministry during the year.  Last year’s blessings was quite extraordinary in the sense that they did not only receive half month salary bonus but also each worker was blessed with a 110 lb bag of maize  as a gift for the festive season.  Apart from the annual blessing, promotions and increase in wages, the ministry also undertakes to provide the over two hundred employees with lunch everyday which no other employer or company does in Malawi. The favorable and satisfactory working atmosphere that Kalibu has created for all the workers has compelled some to declare that their contract with Kalibu is a life long contract as they would not find another place like Kalibu where the order of God prevails.  It is a place free from corruption, nepotism and tribalism and before work commences all staff hold thirty or more minutes of worship and praise to Lord.  The employees range from the educated administration staff to teachers, drivers, skilled technicians in the construction site and finally to the support staff.

All our staff are dedicated and satisfied with the working conditions and are really proud to be working in Kalibu Ministries.

 A COUNTRY WITH A BACKBONE

Get out if you want Sharia law, Australia tells Muslims.

CANBERRA : Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in  a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said  on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false  If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country which practices it,  perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said. Asked whether he  meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual  citizenship could possibly be asked move to the other country.  Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who  did not want to accept local values should "clear off".  "Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by  Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he ! said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spies monitoring the nation's mosques.

Do you know Michael Howard?  I met him this summer.  He was to speak at my home, but at the last minute there was a change in his schedule and rather than  his coming here I went to hear him one evening in a town about 50 miles from here.  I really do believe it was one of those divine encounters that have great meaning...though often we are not aware of just how much at the time.  I bought 6 of his books while there...With the reading of each one I have seen more and more of just why it was important for me to hear him...and to read these books...especially in lieu of the call of God that I KNOW I have to the Moslem peoples.. Also as I heard  Bush's speech, I could not help but think there is a war that is not being addressed which MUST BE!!!!  And that if we don't begin to fight this in the Spiritual there will be no need for the arm of flesh to be extended...I thank God that Bush is beginning to see that it is the fundamentalism of Islam ...but also I see that we need to call for the spiritual warriors to arise to this war...I know you are doing this by the call for the Friday Fast...This so needs to be called forth...the battleground is indeed worldwide and now is the time for us to go to battle.  Having read Michael’s books just spurs me on...I have this day committed to God to be whatever part of this HE deems...I await His direction ..wait, & pray...Michael has shown me how one person can be used of God to do so much...I offer myself as one person...but I also realize that as one can do so much—how much more we can all do together...at God's direction.  LET US PRAY!!!!  Reese Howell and Michael Howard have paved the way.  Now it is time for us to stand and be counted too… (NC)

NEW STAFF FROM LITHUANIA

As we travel from nation to nation we find others who are hungry to be a part of the great call to missions but who have not met anyone who will open doors for them to participate in that call.  It is so exciting to see how God has meshed us together with peoples from other tribes and tongues so that we can work together for the greater glory of His Kingdom.  Language has never been a barrier as we have accepted Africans who cannot speak a word of English.  We have laboured together in unity, we have seen Africans who are generally tribal and territorial leave their families for years at a time, to follow the call of God to some other nation to preach the Gospel alongside us.  Our headquarters in Malawi is truly multiracial, multilingual, multitribal and seldom if ever does it have any affect on the work of the ministry or on the relationships each has with the other.  Isn’t this how the Word calls us to operate and live?

In many (not all) Western churches missionaries are regarded as second rate ministers with little or nothing to offer but we need to recognize that missionaries are working in the uttermost parts and they have sacrificed family, the comfort zone and certainly material wealth to do so.  Often too, they are the spearhead of the Body of Christ and live under extremely dangerous circumstances in order to bring the light of Jesus into the darkness and chaos of various people groups and situations.  When people come from overseas to the mission field on an extended commitment they have to resign from their job, sell or rent their home, place their furniture in storage, uproot their children and often home school them. I call that REAL commitment to the Kingdom.  Shouldn’t we honor the missionary instead of shunning them or passing them by for the very fact that they are prepared to literally lay down their lives for the sake of the Gospel?

We have now been joined by a family from Lithuania who have done all of the above and we would like YOU to be able to help support them each month.  Just like our African Pastor support program and the support program for our Finnish staff all we are asking is for you to send $30 per month.  They, like all of our staff are investments and you will reap the interest from the work they are doing in the harvest fields of the Lord.  These investments are accruing an account in the Kingdom of Heaven instead of accruing accounts here on earth.  (Ed Note)

“Greetings and love from Malawi.  We are a family from Lithuania and have just arrived in Malawi at Kalibu Kwa Yesu Mission. There are six people in our family - Edmundas, Kristina and our four sons (Andrius (13), Ramunas (12), Jonas (8) and Nojus (7). We have had a desire to work on the mission field for many years and now the right time has come for that.  We are going to work here for at least two years.  It is really a big privilege for us to work with Pastor Michael Howard and the Kalibu staff.  We are going to run the intercession work here in Malawi as we have had practice already because were doing a similar work in Lithuania.  On the other hand we have realized that we need to learn very much from the intercessors here. In January, 2007 Kristina is going to work in Kalibu Academy as a teacher.  It is a really big challenge to work and live in Malawi not only for us as parents but for our children also. There are a lot of changes everywhere - climate conditions are different (when we left Lithuania it was a cold winter (-35°F and here we have a heat of 90°F), the entire environment is different and the culture is different. Our children are studying at home so again they need to learn to discipline themselves more than ever before and indeed, their parents need to learn to discipline them even more.

So, here we are amongst the friendly and loving Malawian people and desiring to work with all our heart and all our strength. Pray that our work here would really be fruitful.”
